Before purchasing geotextiles, several factors need to be considered. Here are our suggestions for buying geotextiles:
1. Density of the geotextile:
A higher grammage (weight per unit area) indicates greater resistance. It is recommended to choose a geotextile cover with a minimum grammage of 100 grams per square meter.
2. Woven or non-woven geotextile fabric:
Geotextiles can be either woven or non-woven. More commonly, for engineering applications, people opt for needle-punched and heat-bonded non-woven geotextiles.
3. Size:
Geotextiles are typically sold in packages of 25, 35, or 50 square meters. To minimize waste, calculate the exact square meterage of geotextile required for your project.
