Key Precautions for Geomembrane Installation

Precautions during geomembrane construction:

1. Tool Handling: After use, the blade of the membrane-cutting knife must be immediately retracted into its protective sheath.
2. Temporary Tool Storage: All small temporary tools used on-site should be promptly stored in designated toolboxes after use.
3. Welding Material Disposal: Welding residues removed from the extrusion welder nozzle must never be discarded directly onto the geomembrane surface.
4. Safety Gear Requirements: When working in hazardous locations such as steep slopes or edges, personnel must wear both safety harnesses and hard hats.
5. HDPE Geomembrane Site Regulations:
Smoking is strictly prohibited on HDPE geomembrane construction sites.
6. Fire-fighting equipment must be readily available.
7. Footwear with iron nails or high-heeled rigid soles is prohibited on membrane surfaces.
8. All activities that may damage the finished geomembrane are strictly forbidden.
9. Electrical Safety Standards: Electrical equipment and power cords must comply with relevant professional safety specifications.
10. Power Cord Management: During operation, power cords for hot air guns, grinders, and welding machines must be kept at a safe distance from working components to prevent wire damage and electric shock risks.
11.Hot Air Gun Usage:
Except during hot-air welding, the nozzle of the hot air gun must never contact HDPE geomembrane surfaces under any circumstances.
Maintain maximum possible distance from membrane surfaces, personnel, and machinery.
12.Welding Machine Storage: When not in use, welding machines must not be placed directly on HDPE membrane surfaces. They should be positioned on supports or sandbag platforms instead.
